What is your relationship with the mirror like?

There have been so many tricks to manage this relationship- from covering mirrors with fabric, to putting sticky notes (“Smile!”) on them, to writing reminders that “I am enough” on them in markers. A woman’s relationship with the mirror is a separate one than the one she has with herself.

I have a mirror in my psychotherapy office for this very reason. It is worth exploring, this relationship with the mirror. Different people have different reactions to the one in my office: some are bothered by the reminder of themselves, for a variety of reasons.
